Platanias village
is located about 10 kilometers west from the city of Chania and east of Kastelli-Kissamos, on Chania Bay. Platanias is a popular tourism village with a beach, several hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops.

The village owns its name to the many plane trees scattered along the shore of the river Platanias. Beautiful long sandy beaches which exceeds three kilometers in length attracts the tourists.
Platanias a bit far from the real authentic Crete, but it remains a great place for those who want to be in a more lively surrounding and that are looking for touristy facilities, night life and various sea sports on the beach.
